 The Cuban Parade and Festival of New Jersey has 3 principal objectives:

 

• Celebrate the Cuban-American community's rich cultural heritage, history and traditions.

 

• Increase public awareness of the community's contributions in public service, business and the arts.

 

• Provide businesses an opportunity to show their support and promote their products and services

 

 

The Parade consists of four events leading up to the parade on Sunday June 6, 2010

 

On Wednesday May 26, 2010 Annual Golf Outing - The Cuban Parade of NJ Committee will host its annual golf outing at the Emerson Golf Course in Emerson, New Jersey.

 

On Thursday June 3, 2010 a tribute to Celia Cruz will be held at her park located at 31st Street & Bergenline Ave in Union City, NJ. A star dedication will be held at this event for certain distinguished individuals.

 

 On Friday June 4, 2010 a Star awards and dignitaries VIP reception will be held at La Quinta Inn & Suites located at 350 Lighting Way (off Route 3 West Service Road behind Hess Station) in Secaucus, New Jersey (Entertainment open bar and dinner will be served).

 

On Saturday June 5, 2010 a festival will be held at Schuetzen Park in North Bergen, New Jersey from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM (Food Kiosk, rides, live entertainment and top billing performers will perform.

  

 On Sunday June 6, 2010 -The Parade starting at 5:00 pm.

The route of the Parade will cover the core business district of Bergenline Ave, considered one of New Jersey's premier commercial strips. It will begin at 79th Street and Bergenline Avenue in North Bergen, New Jersey (Entrance to James Braddock Park) and conclude at 43rd Street and Bergenline Ave in Union City, NJ. With  a reviewing stand ceremony.

Our Purpose

"To organize and sponsor a cultural parade commemorating and honoring the vast contributions of

Cuban-Americans to Hudson County, the State of New Jersey and this Great Nation-the United States." 

 

For over 45 years, Cuban-Americans have been active participants in the political, social and economic landscape of New Jersey. The Cuban Parade of New Jersey is an opportunity for all members of the Hispanic community to celebrate the achievements and cultural heritage of Cuban-Americans in the state.

Our History

 

The first parade was celebrated in May 2000, along Hudson County's most renowned business district, Bergenline Ave and culminated with a cultural festival in Hudson County's James J. Braddock Park. Between 10,000 and 15,000 spectators attended the parade festival. The event was supported by 10 corporate sponsors and the participation of a wide range of community-based organizations.

 

During its second year, the Cuban Parade of New Jersey, celebrated in June 2001, attracted over 20,000participants.

 

The 2002 parade attracted more than 30,000 participants.

 

The 2003 parade attracted 100,000 spectators in the rain.

 

The 2004 parade was expected to attract over 100,000 or more spectators through an aggressive and strategically targeted marketing and advertising campaign. (It did that and more, over 100,000 people

lined up along Bergenline Avenue to see it). Major media outlets and corporate sponsors in the tri-state

area supported this event.

 

In 2005 with the continued support from all of our sponsors and invited guests the parade attracted more than 250,000 spectators.

 

In 2006 with the continued support from all of our sponsors and invited guests the parade attracted more than 350,000 spectators.

 

In 2007 with the continued support from our sponsors invited guests and the media our parade attracted more than 400,000 spectators.

 

In 2008 with the continued support from our sponsors invited guests and the media our parade attracted more than 500,000 spectators.

 

In 2009 with the continued support from our sponsors invited guests and the media our parade attracted more than 600,000 spectators.

 

Use of Proceeds

 

To grant scholarships to disadvantaged students, from local and regional schools, wishing to attend colleges and/or universities.

To assist and provide support to families in need due to natural disasters, acts of Nature.

To cooperate with humanitarian causes and efforts throughout the world.
